Here are some of the many amazing speakers we’ve had at Medicats meetings, either in-person or via Zoom. Some speakers have even joined us multiple times!

Attending these speaker events counts for shadowing hours and oftentimes these physicians will let students come into their offices and clinics for additional shadowing.

A huge focus of Medicats involves volunteerism and giving back to the community, especially in the context of serving patients. Our students have the opportunity to serve patients at the Hope Lodge, Ronald McDonald House, and the Miracle League here in Lexington.

  • Opportunities for clinical hours from students who have done them
  • Basic components of a medical school application
  • Panel of students currently in medical school
  • MCAT advice and prep
  • Interview prep
  • Hearing each year from a representative of the UK College of Medicine who comes in to answer questions
  • Help getting students connected to research opportunities
